IEEE UT

Who We Are

We are the UT Austin branch of the globally recognized Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. There are several IEEE sub-branches at UT Austin (i.e. IEEE RAS, IEEE PES, etc.); we are a local chapter of the national IEEE organization and are not directly affiliated with the sub-branches.

Who Can Join?

IEEE is open to ECE students from all years, from freshman to PhD. We conduct general meetings every other week on Thursday at 7 pm, where we provide general org updates and host a corporate talk or student/professor panel or workshop. General meetings are all open to both members and non-members, and are not mandatory.

What Do Members Do?

Students must pay $10 dues in order to becomes official members of our organization. Members receive a free t-shirt upon signing up and are eligible to earn Spark points, which can be accumulated to become eligible for Spark-member exclusive perks. All members may attend socials, participate in IM sports, and take advantage of IEEE academic resources. Some of the main events IEEE organizes and/or participates in are E-Week, SPAX Banquet, and Cockrell volunteering events.
